I chose Barbie because she allowed little girls to live out their fantasy's, and was the center of my day when I was a child, and for many years in adulthood as I switched from playing with Barbies to collecting them.
pictured are two of the of my favorite barbies that I own.

Finally, The Muppet's especially Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy are household names recognizable to everyone. I chose the Muppet's because many grew up seeming them on Sesame Street another another iconic show. My favorite Muppet's are Slater and Waldorf, the two cranky old men in the balcony who hate everything but their own jokes.

Barbie was really important to my mom and I growing up. In fact she kept her Barbie's for me and gave them to me when I was little.
ReplyDeleteI liked that you choose the Easy Bake Oven. My mom always wanted one when she was little and tells the story all the time. So last Christmas I bought her one. I guess better late than never. I guess it tells the lasting impact items have on people.
Great selections for your icons Nicole! All of these iconic figures are recognizable around the globe. I think it is amazing that Barbie is still going strong after all of these years.
ReplyDeleteI have a funny story about the Easy Back Oven. They have revamped the original model and it is not that "easy"! I got my middle child one a few years back for Christmas, we burnt something in her oven and the smell lingered in my place for a few days LOL
